Cost Accountant - Allegan Area

Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing actual to standard costs.
• Perform inventory valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, and reconcile inventory accounts.
• Identify and analyze cost variances, providing insights into root causes and potential improvements.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data and analysis.
• Assist in the month-end close process related to cost of goods sold and inventory.
• Monitor and update bill of materials (BOMs) and routing data in the ERP system.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost drivers and recommend improvements.

• Experience with SAP CO or other major ERP costing modules.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for cost analysis.
• Familiarity with Activity-Based Costing (ABC) principles and application.
