Carpenter Multi-Trader

Overview

Carpenter Multi-Trader role. Salary £25-£28 per hour. Working for a Maintenance Contractor, based out of Saffron Walden (CB11 4LH
). Long-term temp role in social housing maintenance. Coverage area includes CB10, CB11, CM22, CM23, and CM24. Own van preferred; business mileage paid weekly. If you do not have your own transport, a hire option may be available.

Working in occupied properties carrying out repairs and maintenance on Local Authority properties directly for an in-house contractor team.

• Demonstrate a core skilled trade of carpentry and undertake a range of multi-trade duties including:
• Minor plumbing repairs
• Tiling (mainly splash backs)
• Painting and decorating
• Patch plastering
• General property maintenance
• Work in occupied residential properties, ideally in domestic tenanted or social housing settings
• Deliver excellent customer service and support residents with reactive repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of properties
• Work on a job-to-job basis over a planned route with a wide range of general repairs and maintenance tasks on each job
• Coordinate with schedulers and planners to meet contract SLA delivery in a timely manner
• Advise your supervisor on issues or challenges requiring additional support
• Work independently or in a team with other trades as required to complete a repair
• Complete daily worksheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job
• Maintain a timely and productive work pace

• Strong carpentry background with the ability to carry out multi-trade works
• NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, or time-served equivalent
• Your own 110v power tools and hand tools
• Willingness to undertake written paperwork or use a PDA to record jobs completed
• SOR codes knowledge is desirable
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance repair works
• Ability to manage and carry out booked repairs in a dispersed region
• Previous experience in social housing repairs, voids, or planned works
• Adherence to company health and safety guidelines
• Collaborative with a range of stakeholders
• Strong customer service skills due to repairs in occupied properties
• Tidy work ethic; keep adjoining work areas clean and damage-free

• Full UK driving licence

Working hours:

8am – 5pm. Pay: £25-£28 per hour. Own van preferred with mileage covered.
