Manager Concentrate Leach Plant

Job Summary: This pivotal role involves overseeing the safe and efficient processing of copper sulfide concentrate to produce sulfuric acid and copper cathode, ensuring metallurgical excellence and operational safety. The ideal candidate will bring a strong leadership presence, deep technical expertise, and a passion for advancing copper processing technologies in a dynamic mining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Pressure Oxidation plant, ensuring safety, metallurgical performance, and production targets are met.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Safe Operating Practices (SOPs) for all major tasks, ensuring comprehensive training and risk awareness among personnel.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Mine, Concentrator, Oxygen Plant, and Hydrometallurgy to optimize feed quality, oxygen needs, and production schedules.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to, and all safety and operational procedures are current and effective.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by teaching staff to recognize risks and take appropriate actions, maintaining effective controls for risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and manage quarterly and annual budgets, including justifications for plant upgrades and capital expenditures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of metallurgical plant operational experience, including supervisory or management roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of copper smelting, hydrometallurgical, and leaching operations, with a solid understanding of thermodynamic and kinetic principles.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise, evaluate, train, and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with pressure oxidation, autoclave operations, and plant maintenance is highly preferred.
