Department Information
This position is located in the California Justice Information Services Division, Application Development Bureau, Division of Law Enforcement (DLE), Biometrics & Prescription Drugs Monitoring Program Systems Branch, Solutions Development Services Section, DLE Applications Unit.
The incumbent acts as an application architect and senior developer to develop complex solutions with a wide range of tools and technologies.
Duties include:
- Develop conceptual designs, data models and resource estimates; define project work activities, timelines and system constraints; and design and development of the most complex systems and interface configurations.
- Develop sophisticated system capabilities, design and implement cloud-based solutions, and develop required interfaces between internal and external systems.
- Engage with clients and vendors to obtain information used to customize and develop complex software to achieve desired results.
- Apply expertise in development tools and languages to develop and maintain complex applications, resolve technical problems related to applications or infrastructure (including performance issues).
- Write complex scripts and procedures, analyze data and situations, reason logically, identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions.
