Job Description
The Foreman position is part of the telecommunications career path and requires in-depth knowledge of industry/customer standards and exemplary leadership. The role involves mentoring Tower Tech I, II and III employees, sharing lessons learned, and delivering safety and technical training to ensure career advancement at Vasko Electric.
Wage range for Tower Tech Foreman: $30/hr - $40/hr
Responsibilities- Read and understand all project documentation.
- Use and navigate customer and company portals for project deliverables.
- Create material lists for project components.
- Communicate with customers and company personnel in verbal or written form.
- Track and manage materials, tools, and equipment on projects.
- Manage projects to a defined cost and production schedule.
- Identify SOW changes in the field.
- Maintain a safe and clean work site.
- Keep vehicle clean and organized.
- Apply the safety hierarchy of controls to plan and mitigate risk.
- Motivate, lead, support, and give direction to the crew.
- Plan and execute the installation of the entire project.
- Set an example for less senior team members and coach others through direct teaching or peer accountability.
- Work in various locations, including public spaces, privately owned spaces/properties, or remote locations in California and Nevada.
- Climb or work from elevated platforms up to 300 feet to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment.
- Read and understand documents such as JHA/JSA, material orders, blueprints, RFDS, and other site-specific documentation.
- Install telecommunications ground equipment, power panels, conduit, fiber optic cables, base rock, underground vaults, concrete, rebar, wire, and related items.
- Perform manual labor such as digging, lifting items (up to 75 lbs), rigging, organizing material, cleaning up trash, and working in harnesses as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience or demonstrated proficiency at Tower Tech III level; skill assessment will be performed.
- OSHA 30 and NWSA Certification (Tower Tech III).
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Not afraid of heights.
- Attention to detail and punctuality.
- Ability to work overtime as required, travel long distances (company-provided transportation) and stay in company-provided hotels up to 90% of the time.
- Self-starter, comfortable working in small groups, and willing to learn continuously.
- Ability to follow direction and adhere to all safety, company, and governing policies/procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to obtain State Electrical Certifications.
