We are looking for an experienced Field Mechanic for our Sacramento, CA location. The Field Mechanic will travel to job sites in California and perform diagnostics and repairs on our heavy equipment and fleet trucks. The preferred applicant will have substantial experience in the industry, capable of addressing various equipment such as skid steers, minis, excavators, dozers, plows, and related systems including electrical, engines, hydraulics, welding, and more.

We provide a service truck and specialized tools; you must have your own basic tools. Pay: $40-60/hr, DOE

What You'll Do
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment
  • Travel to job sites around California
  • Perform engine repairs and maintenance
  • Perform safety inspections
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair transmission systems
  • Make necessary repairs to hydraulic and air brakes
  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems
  • Make electrical repairs
  • Perform oil changes as needed
  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment mechanic work
  • Computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to manage a schedule and organize time
  • Willingness to travel out of state (60%)
  • Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs
  • Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas
  • Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner
  • Welding experience
  • Experience with Ford 6.7 Diesel and GM 6.6 Duramax (Preferred)
  • Safety Inspection certified (Preferred)
  • Management experience (Preferred)
  • Class A CDL (Highly Preferred)
  • Diesel mechanic certification (Required)
  • Paid based on experience
Licenses / Certifications
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience
