Job SummaryWe are seeking a Manufacturing Technician with a strong chemistry background to join our small, specialty pharmaceutical manufacturing and development company. The primary responsibility is to perform analytical testing of GMP drug intermediates within the QC department. The role also involves supporting method development, refining existing analytical methods, and maintaining laboratory equipment. We are looking for a committed, detail-oriented individual who can carry out routine analytical tests compliant with GMP/GLP practices-primarily using HPLC-while contributing to assay development for both QC and R&D efforts.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Prepare solutions and samples for HPLC assays independently; operate HPLC and LC-MS instruments.
- Prepare solutions for other analytical assays.
- Analyze results, including calculating basic statistical metrics such as means and standard deviations.
- Operate standard lab equipment, including analytical scales, pH meters, densitometers, and spectrophotometers.
- Perform analytical testing with DSC, Karl Fischer, and rheometer (training provided as needed).
- Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and work instructions.
- Accurately document experimental details in lab notebooks and electronic records.
- Assist in analytical method development, optimization, and validation.
- Contribute to writing test methods, work instructions, and analytical reports.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC assays.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of basic lab equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
- Clean glassware for HPLC and general lab usage.
- Manage hazardous waste and satellite collection points.
- Maintain inventory of analytical supplies and materials.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
- 4-5 years of GMP experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- HPLC experience required (Waters systems and Empower software highly preferred).
- LCMS experience is a plus.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to troubleshoot assay and equipment issues.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and written protocols.
- Communicate issues or problems with the supervisor in a timely manner.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Waters Empower HPLC software.
