• Minimum of three years of experience including intubation/anesthesia
• Must be friendly, outgoing, and people‑oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Capable of cross‑training for front‑office receptionist duties; telephone and computer skills are necessary
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and accept change

• Phlebotomy
• IV catheter placement
• Preparing and restraining animals during procedures
• Anesthetic induction
• Anesthetic monitoring
• Assisting in surgery
• Wound suturing (cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues)
• Applying bandages and/or splints
• Wound care
• Use of stethoscope and otoscope
• Advising pet owners on proper care

• Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and pets in the waiting area and exam rooms
• Exceed client expectations of service
• Provide compassionate nursing care as the top priority for all patients
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks
• Conduct a cursory examination of animals
• Recognize potential patient issues
• Communicate findings clearly to a doctor
• Maintain accurate record keeping
• Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor

• College or college‑equivalent education required for becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician
• Dependable attendance is required
• Must lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8‑hour day

• A 5/8 work week (Monday through Friday – no weekends)

Salary: $24 – $30 per hour, depending on experience.
