Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician at Animal Dermatology Group, Inc (ADG). ADG has over 40 locations nationwide and supports a large dermatology residency program. Animal Dermatology Clinic - Sacramento is seeking a Part-time Registered Veterinary Technician with qualities including energy, positivity, initiative, teamwork, reliability, and adaptability.

• Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and patients in waiting areas and exam rooms
• Exceed client expectations of service
• Provide compassionate nursing care as a top priority
• Housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed
• Perform cursory examinations of animals and recognize potential issues
• Communicate findings clearly to a doctor
• Record keeping
• Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  
  previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility; friendly, outgoing, and people-oriented; excellent communication skills; able to be cross-trained for front office duties and proficient with telephone and computer systems; willing to learn new techniques and adapt to change
• Medical Related
  
  Skills:
  
  phlebotomy; IV catheter placement; restraining animals during procedures; anesthetic induction and monitoring; assisting in surgery; suturing; applying bandages or splints; wound care; use of stethoscope and otoscope; advising pet owners on proper care
• Duties including but not limited to: ability to perform a cursory examination, communicate findings to a doctor, and maintain records; experience with dispensing medications as prescribed
• Education and
  
  Physical Requirements:
  
  college or college-equivalent education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician; dependable attendance; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; ability to work long or irregular hours under pressure; ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach for an 8-hour day
