Overview

• Lead and manage the GI Services department, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to professional standards.
• Develop and maintain an environment that supports nursing practices and operational excellence.
• Monitor staff performance and quality of procedures within the department.
• Participate in program development and unit performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality improvement processes.
• Provide direct patient care and education as necessary to support departmental needs.
• Promote staff development and satisfaction through effective leadership and resource management.

• Develop and manage departmental budgets and productivity targets effectively.
• Supervise staff, ensuring adherence to standards of care and organizational expectations.
• Implement strategic plans for service needs and resource utilization.
• Evaluate departmental functions and patient service delivery for continuous improvement.
• Ensure services are age-appropriate and meet patient physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Act as a resource for education and information in areas of expertise.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Document patient care appropriately and ensure adherence to policies.
• Promote respectful and responsive communication between departments to enhance patient-centered care.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience in GI services; five years preferred.
• Current California Board of Registered Nursing licensure and CPR certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within 12 months of hire.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality improvement processes, and financial management essential.
• Certified Gastrointestinal Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and delegate effectively within a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated technical competence and professional clinical judgment.
