Physician Assistant​/Surgery - General-Hand​/California​/Locums to Perm​/Locum Nurse Practit

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - General Surgery for our client in California!

• Perform preoperative consults on surgical patients, including risk assessments and information gathering.
• Conduct patient interviews and complete full consult notes for day-of-surgery cases.
• Report abnormal lab and test results to the medical director.
• Address patient concerns and answer questions from RNs in the clinic.
• Discuss any patient-related issues with the medical director.
• Alert the medical director to logistical concerns affecting patient care.

• Surgical experience required.
• At least 50 clinical services, cases, or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months.
• Active CA medical license.
• Active CA DEA license.
• At least two years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty.
• Explanation required for any gaps in practice greater than three months.
• Case logs must be provided upon presentation for surgical specialties.

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Approximately 14-week assignment.
• Guaranteed 8 hours per day.
• Overtime applies after 8 hours in a day.

• Strong clinical assessment and surgical patient evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, RNs, and medical directors.
• Ability to identify and elevate abnormal findings promptly.
• Proficiency in completing detailed consult documentation.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple patient cases efficiently.

All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $125.00 per hour
