Department Overview

The Midtown GI Lab performs upper and lower endoscopies, with moderate sedation administered by the RN and deep sedation by an anesthesiologist. Up to 36 procedures per day.

Position Scope

The AN2 will manage staff schedules, staff competencies, assist with scheduling in‑services, check provider templates, order supplies, and monitor regulatory documentation and logs. Float or cross‑cover other GI sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current California RN license without restrictions.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Moderate Sedation Certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN required or in progress.
  • Leadership or Supervisory role of at least 3 years in an ambulatory setting.
  • Knowledge of GI and high‑level disinfection process.
  • Moderate Sedation experience required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to use medical terminology appropriately.
  • Knowledge of current nursing trends.
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability and professionalism.
  • Adapts to change positively, professionally, and productively.
  • Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence‑based practice.
