Job Summary
Wound Care Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist-PCS Nurse Practitioners. Leverages in depth knowledge of one or more clinical specialty areas to effectively manage highly complex care. Includes multidisciplinary collaboration that identifies and prioritizes nursing care needs for a population of patients and families. Develops, implements and evaluates new models of practice across the continuum of care. Leads the implementation of new policies and procedures across all nursing units.
Collaborates with other clinical nurse specialists and health system leadership to lead change and develop evidence-based models of practice. Mentors excellence in patient care across a diversified patient population. Applies knowledge, experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Develops and implements evidence-based patient and staff education. Demonstrates leadership skills.
Demonstrates accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. Apply By Date: 3/20/2025
- Possession of valid California RN and Advanced Practice license (i.e., Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner license)
- Furnishing license (if NP licensed)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire (if NP licensed)
- National Board Certification, if an NP, in an aligned specialty with the practice area
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification or UC Davis Health CPR
- Graduation with a master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
- One year or greater experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role
- Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (WOCN) Certification
- Prior wound care experience
- One year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department highly desirable >
