Development Manager
Join CAIR Sacramento Valley/Central California in the role of Development Manager to lead all revenue-generating fundraising and development activities for CAIR‑SVCC, reporting to the Executive Director.
Key Details- Location: Sacramento, CA – hybrid schedule (3 days in‑person, 2 days remote). Requires occasional evening and weekend work, travel across Sacramento Valley and Central California, and a valid driver’s license.
- Status: Exempt, full‑time, regular term.
- Salary: $75,000‑$95,000 commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: 100% employer‑paid medical and dental, 401(k) match, 12 vacation days, 10 sick days, 12 holidays.
- Develop and implement a major gifts solicitation program.
- Manage donor portfolio with the Executive Director, Operations and Development Manager, and Board members.
- Make direct face‑to‑face solicitations and provide portfolio development support and strategic counsel to staff.
- Coordinate donor recognition programs with the Development Coordinator.
- Maintain professional relationships with funders, updating them on grant fund utilization.
- Oversee a master calendar for donor communication, special events, and campaigns.
- Secure sponsorship and advertisements for annual banquet and special events/programs.
- Lead the monthly donor program, engaging existing donors and expanding new donors with support from the Operations and Development Manager.
- Coordinate closely with the outreach team supporting CAIR‑SVCC’s fundraising campaigns, education programs, advocacy actions, and community services.
- Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.
- At least three years of management and fundraising experience, preferably in a nonprofit focused on social justice or public policy.
- Experience working with the American Muslim community or a faith‑based or social justice‑oriented organization is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Self‑directed initiative with minimal supervision.
- Track record of measurable results in organizing and implementing initiatives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
