Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our Sacremento, California (CA) office! This is not a remote position.
ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Operations:
Keys to the Castle
- Manage, monitor, and grow Kimley-Horn’s social media presence across multiple platforms, ensuring brand consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity.
- Maintain and update the content calendar for organic social posts, ensuring all scheduled activities are accurately tracked, and deadlines are met.
- Utilize Asana for project management and coordination across all ongoing initiatives.
Content Liaison:
Idea Catalyst
- Work with strategists to ensure efficient execution of the established posting plan and support content development as needed.
- During planning sessions, bring relevant content ideas, trends, thought starters, and inspiration to share.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and subject matter experts, to coordinate content needs, campaign execution, and issue escalation.
Community Management:
Fostering Fandom & Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, actively engaging with audiences, building authentic relationships, moderating discussions, fostering brand loyalty, and upholding community guidelines to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Initiate, encourage, and sustain meaningful conversations by addressing concerns, answering questions, and keeping discussions active and relevant beyond initial content publication.
- Identify and engage with key community members and influencers, support their advocacy, and amplify the community’s voice through collaborative content.
- Stay informed about industry and social media trends, best practices, and competitor activities to continuously improve social media and community engagement strategies.
Monitor, Analyze & Report:
Finding Magic in the Data
- Collect and analyze insights from community discussions, polls, surveys, and direct interactions; regularly report actionable feedback to the marketing and communications team to refine messaging and address emerging concerns.
- Utilize social listening tools such as Sprout and Cision to track comments, trends, and sentiment, proactively addressing issues and identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and protect brand reputation.
- Monitor social media and community performance metrics, preparing regular reports on engagement, reach, sentiment, and other key indicators for internal stakeholders. Use these findings to identify patterns, inform strategies, and uncover areas for improvement.
As Needed
- Support paid social media and other marketing activities as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field; social media marketing certifications preferred.
- 2+ years of professional social media management experience (agency or in-house).
- Experience managing multiple marketing initiatives and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication—able to tell stories and simplify technical information for digital platforms.
- Experience with social media analytics tools (Sprout preferred).
- Collaborative, proactive approach with a passion for contributing creative ideas.
- Bonus:
Familiarity with the AEC industry to understand project nuances and communicate effectively.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
