Job Summary
Team Leader – 2nd Shift 1pm to 11:30pm, 4 days/week.

- Ensure that you and your assigned team are following all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.
- Facilitate daily Huddle/Tailgate meetings to communicate and educate team members on safety, food safety, production goals/results, and other organizational initiatives.
- Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and that the product specifications are being adhered to.
- Ensure all materials being used are compliant with spec sheets and documented on daily production reports.
- Lead the setup of equipment and surrounding work areas, ensuring equipment and work areas are clean, properly calibrated, and safe to operate.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance to ensure readiness of equipment while limiting machine failure and downtime.
- Lead the proper and safe changeover of packaging/production equipment and materials to support scheduled production.
- Actively provide training to team members on equipment, tasks and processes to learn all aspects of packaging equipment operation and product/requirements.
- Facilitate the daily rotation of team members to support various packaging/production areas and provide rest and meal breaks/lunch rotations to support packaging needs.
- Lead the daily/weekly/monthly sanitation of production/packaging equipment, conveyors, tools, and associated work areas.
- Facilitate the return of unused packaging material to assigned locations.
- Monitor finished product quality with a focus on eliminating defects and increasing throughput.
- Actively communicate with other team members, team leaders, and supervisors to identify and resolve challenges while improving operational efficiencies.
- Perform routine safety checks to ensure the workspace is free from potential safety risks while working with the overall bakery team to promote a safe workplace environment.
- Actively lead, train, promote, participate, and practice 5S/6S methodology.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis exercises, assigned projects, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform all other work as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a production environment.
- Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Commitment to achieving targets and measuring work results.
- Strong understanding of production metrics and performance analysis.
- Experience in setting and achieving individual and team performance goals.
- Experience in providing mentorship and training to new team members.
- Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and feedback.
- Knowledge of safety and operational standards in a production setting.
- Strong problem‑solving skills to identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage team workload.
- 3+ years’ work experience operating advanced manufacturing equipment.
- 1+ years’ work experience in a leadership role, providing direction, guidance, and training to a team.
- 1+ years’ work experience providing hands‑on training of advanced packaging/production equipment and associated work processes to new team members and ongoing refresher training; leading huddles/tailgate meetings to assigned teams.
