We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, reliable team player who can add value to our Training Department. The Job Skills Coach will train new production team members using the established job skills training program, ensuring they can satisfactorily perform required tasks while following safety, quality, and production standards within the designated training period.
Duties / Responsibilities- Responsible for training new team members to perform their tasks and meet safety, quality, and production standards outlined for the job.
- Facilitate the training program as designed, including utilizing training material, recording observations, and providing daily/weekly feedback to new team members.
- Provide daily feedback to the production leadership team on new team member’s job skills performance.
- Evaluate new team members' performance in partnership with department managers.
- Instruct team members on-the-job and off the production line as needed using a tell, show, do, review format.
- Ensure new team members know how to safely use required tools and wear PPE on the production floor.
- Assist in documentation and creation of processes, SOPs, and building methods used throughout the facility.
- Provide on-the-job coaching to ensure new team members use proper home building techniques.
- Establish urgency and set adequate production pace to meet production schedules.
- Train new team members on maintaining a clean work area according to documented procedures.
- Motivate and encourage new team members to meet performance objectives.
- Ensure new team members have resources needed to complete their job.
- Help answer new team member questions and act as a “Culture Guide” to help them adjust to the facility culture.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn, grow, and develop as a leader in our organization.
- Promote company culture, teamwork, quality goals, and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Assist other departments as needed by production schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned by TMX Manager.
- Must wear personal protective equipment while in production.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred; must be able to read, write and speak.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED), required.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends to meet production training schedules if needed.
- Ability to communicate clearly and openly.
- Ability to explain processes and procedures in a way that makes complicated tasks easier.
- Analytical skills, problem solving ability, and capability to offer alternative solutions.
- Knowledge/Experience with in the Manufactured Homes or Construction Industry.
- Experience with power tools and hand tools (nail guns, utility knife, ladders, saws, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, Smartsheets, laptop and iPad.
- Prior job training experience preferred.
- Prior experience in an HR role a plus.
- $26 to $29 Per Hour DOE
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and/or pulling.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
- As needed for the Job Skills Training Program.
