Join Our Team and Make an Impact! The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) is seeking an Assistant Director – Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program to support our mission of revitalizing communities and expanding access to affordable housing.

In this leadership role, you will assist the Director of HCV in guiding the management of public and subsidized housing through effective planning, direct service, and quality assurance. You will also serve on the Executive Team, helping align departments and strengthen collaboration as one Agency

This position is Full-Time - In Office in Sacramento, CA. However, the Agency operates on a 9-8-80 Work Schedule which provides work-life balance for all with every other Friday off!

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience
  • Minimum 6 years related experience with publicly assisted programs. Related experience is defined as experience in administering housing programs, program management, or property management.
  • HCV program management experience is preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of management experience. At least two (2) years in the management of affordable housing programs preferred.
  • Preferred management experience in housing, advocacy, community-based non-profits, community development, and/or other relevant areas that complement this effort.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations, Housing Quality Standards (HQS), and similar housing programs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Housing Act.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills using performance incentives and team-building strategies
  • Strong written, oral and reading communication skills to accurately obtain, interpret and transcribe complex programs at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Yardi, or other industry software applications

  • Establish organization-wide goals and cross department projects and objectives.
  • Actively participate in the development and oversight of long range, strategic and budget planning processes.
  • Anticipate and address public image, budget management, liability or other issues that may impact the financial, organizational, political and/or creative stability of the agency.
