general description:

the vice president – member digital services and artificial intelligence manager is a visionary executive responsible for setting and driving the enterprise-wide digital and ai strategy to transform member experiences and operational excellence. This role leads the organization in leveraging digital platforms and ai technologies to deliver innovative, personalized, and secure financial solutions, ensuring golden 1’s leadership in digital transformation and financial empowerment.

tasks, duties, functions:

  • enterprise digital & ai strategy:develop, champion, and oversee the execution of a holistic digital and ai strategy aligned with organizational vision, growth objectives, and member needs. Influence and guide the adoption of emerging technologies across all business units.
  • executive leadership & governance: serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic direction, thought leadership, and governance for digital and ai initiatives. Advise the board and c‑suite on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • cross‑functional collaboration & external partnerships: build and nurture strategic partnerships with other executives, department heads, and teams (e.g., it, marketing, product development, enterprise member experience) to integrate member digital services across the organization, foster a culture of ai literacy, and build high‑performing teams.
  • innovation & change management: foster a culture of innovation, digital literacy, and continuous improvement. Lead organizational change initiatives to modernize platforms, processes, and talent capabilities, maintaining a competitive edge in the industry.
  • budget and resource management: develop and manage budgets and resources allocated for digital and ai initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation and optimal cost efficiencies.

physical skills, abilities, utilized in the performance of these task:

  • effective oral and written communication skills required to establish goals, direct, and evaluate staff, prepare, and present recommendations, perform analysis, and accomplish other managerial functions as required.
  • must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on‑line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone.

organizational contacts & relationships:

  • internal: senior executive team and all business unit leaders, vp’s and svp’s
  • external: other financial organizations, government agencies, fintech’s, vendors, and community & trade organizations.

qualifications:

  • education: bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree a plus.
  • experience: 10‑15+ years of progressive professional business experience, ideally within technology management, business management, and/or marketing with some independent p&l and/or financial responsibilities.
  • knowledge / skills:
  • in-depth knowledge of digital and ai trends on both demand (usage) and supply (emerging technologies) sides. The ability to lead change in people, processes, and technology in a dynamic and matrix environment. Excellent communication skills for translation of digital concepts to business leaders and business concepts to technologists.
  • proven track record of building collaborative high‑performing teams. Strong alignment with golden1's mission, vision, and core values.

physical requirements:

  • prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  • corrected vision within the normal range.
  • hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
  • occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks,
  • ability to travel for business, as needed. Occasional travel locally, statewide, and nationally required to evaluate technology products and services, network with peers, and attend conferences, seminars, and meetings. Overnight travel and evening schedules included.
  • unusually long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks.

licenses / certifications: certifications such as certified artificial intelligence practitioner (caip), project management professional (pmp), certified digital transformation officer (cdto), and certified information systems security professional (cissp) are helpful but not required.
