Under the general direction of the Supervisor II, the Supervisor I (SUP I) is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of a unit comprised of analytical and seasonal staff. The unit is responsible for operational and programmatic assignments related to program integrity and the prevention of improper Medi‑Cal program payments. The SUP I will provide supervision over a variety of administrative and analytical assignments including Budget Change Proposals, Contracts, and Legislation.
The SUP I works with Division experts on eligibility criteria for Medi‑Cal programs and with other staff throughout the Medi‑Cal program, including but not limited to the Division Legal Staff and Information Technology Staff. The SUP I also works with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the County Welfare Directors Association, and the Social Security Administration, in creation of policies, procedures, and systems to implement and maintain Medi‑Cal program integrity.
The SUP I directs staff in maintaining and updating procedures including but not limited to, Income Eligibility Verification System (IEVS), Asset Verification Program (AVP), Residency Verification Program (RVP), Incarceration Verification Program (IVP), and Death Verification Program (DVP) data matching activities. The SUP I is also responsible for directing work related to the use of the Public Assistance Reporting System (PARIS) and preparing reports for the Administration and the legislature.
The Program Integrity I Unit supervisor will work collaboratively with the Program Integrity II Unit supervisor for PIU programs. Attends meetings to represent the Section and acts on behalf of the Section Chief in his/her absence.
