Basic PurposeThe primary function of the Maintenance/Custodian position is to assist The Salvation Army in facilitating its mission through the operation of the divisional headquarters. Maintain the appearance and perform/coordinate the repairs/upkeep and cleanliness of the divisional headquarters.
Maintenance Duties- Proven experience in maintenance and repair work.
- Minimum of 1‑year prior experience in a maintenance, custodian, or janitorial position.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and ability to comprehend English instructions and follow through with desired requirements.
- Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
- Frequent lifting of 30 pounds or more.
- Frequent climbing of ladders.
- Good mobility with the ability to climb, crawl, bend and have good dexterity regarding grasping, reaching, and handling.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
- Ability to reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone.
- Ability to lift up to 50‑70 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
