Compensation: $35 – $46/hour, based on experience

A Day in the Life of the ParalegalIn this role, you’ll support a high-impact civil litigation practice advocating for elder abuse, neglect, and wrongful death victims. You’ll be a key partner to the attorneys, handling case management
, overseeing written discovery
, preparing for depositions, motions, and trial
, and ensuring clients feel supported every step of the way. Your work helps drive justice, accountability, and closure for vulnerable seniors and their families.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing civil litigation cases from pre-litigation through trial and post-trial activities
- Organizing, reviewing, and analyzing case files, medical records, discovery responses, and document productions
- Drafting and responding to discovery
, and preparing meet-and-confer letters - Conducting legal research
; preparing case law summaries, statute summaries, and medical record chronologies - Creating witness lists
, exhibit lists, and supporting documentation - Coordinating and preparing exhibits, trial binders, deposition binders, and trial logistics
- Overseeing e-discovery, document review, and document production processes
- Interviewing and meeting with witnesses and clients
- Maintaining consistent client communication to provide case updates and gather information
- Training and mentoring junior paralegals and legal administrative staff
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience in California
- Strong knowledge of California state court rules, federal court procedures, and e-filing systems
- Expertise in drafting and responding to written discovery and legal documents
- Strong experience supporting trial preparation, deposition preparation, and litigation logistics
- Hands-on experience preparing or supporting motions to compel and discovery disputes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with evidence management, document organization, and case files
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
