Are you an employment/HR attorney with experience or interest in tort law who cares deeply about the future of science and nature in California? This position will be a member of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) highly collaborative and creative legal office comprised of natural resources, employment, contract, administrative, enforcement, and water law legal professionals. This Attorney IV will take on the challenging legal role as CDFW's primary lead on a variety of the most difficult, complex, and sensitive legal work involving human resources, labor, employment, and tort matters.
This attorney will work closely with CDFW management, including the highest-level staff in CDFW’s Administration Division and the Opportunity Office. The position will also collaborate on the most sensitive matters with appointees in the Department, Natural Resources Agency, and other parts of the Governor’s Administration. Maintain normal and consistent work hours, averaging 40 hours per week. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is expected when necessary to complete assignments in a timely manner. Position may require the Incumbent to sit for long periods of time. Light lifting or reaching may be required, though reasonable accommodation may be provided upon request. This position will be located in Sacramento.
Some overnight travel may be required.
