Our law firm has an opening for a law clerk, and we are looking for a driven individual with a desire to learn to join our team. You’ll get hands-on experience conducting legal research and preparing memoranda, which will confirm or deny the citations in an attorney’s legal brief in order to get ready for trial.
You’ll also prepare subpoenas and motions, docket deadlines, and learn about filing requirements for both circuit and federal courts. - Research case law to confirm legal authority cited in legal documents to assist judges and attorneys
- Create legal memoranda outlining results of research to help plan the best strategy for success for court proceedings
- Consult with legal experts, converse with clients, and interview witnesses to prepare for trial
- Organize and maintain files to ensure information is up to date and deadlines are properly docketed
- Law school student with an undergraduate degree or recent law school graduate
- Plan to take or have already passed state bar exam
- Minimum one year of experience working in the legal industry
- Candidates must have great writing skills and communication skills to be able to argue effectively
- Display attention to detail and strong work ethic
$60,000 per year
