Overview
Our client, a respected personal injury law firm in Sacramento, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation.
Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Responsibilities- Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with courts and agencies
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate client meetings and medical exams
- Prepare and serve subpoenas; update and maintain proof of service records
- Organize and maintain case files, including medical records, accident reports, and discovery materials
- Track and communicate deadlines, reminders, and statutes of limitations
- Assist with discovery, including document production and responses
- Prepare for trial by creating witness lists, drafting jury instructions, and organizing trial binders
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and court staff
- Support billing, timekeeping, and case expense tracking as needed
- Prior experience as a legal secretary in personal injury law required
- Strong knowledge of discovery, court filing procedures, and trial preparation
- Proficient in calendaring, scheduling, and legal document management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Word Perfect, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat required
- Ability to work in person in Sacramento, CA
