We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of family law matters. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing cases from intake through trial, maintaining frequent client contact, and assisting with complex legal procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication regarding case status, document requests, and procedural updates.
- Manage family law cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Assist attorneys with discovery processes
, including document collection, organization, review, and preparation of discovery responses. - Support attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
, including assembling exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks. - File documents with courts electronically and in person, ensuring compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
- Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and deadlines using case management systems.
- Conduct legal and factual research related to family law statutes, court rules, and case law as needed.
- Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, experts, and third-party vendors.
- Assist with billing, time entries, and administrative tasks related to case management.
- 1+ years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm setting.
- Training will be provided by Law firm
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.
- Experience with discovery, motion drafting, and trial preparation
. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize deadlines, and work independently.
- Proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems.
- Paralegal certification or degree preferred.
