Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Immigration Associate Attorney to join our legal team on a contracted basis. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in immigration law, can independently manage a diverse caseload, and maintains the highest standards of professionalism, judgment, and client advocacy. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven practice and values both autonomy and collaboration.

Our firm handles a high volume of family‑based matters, waivers, removal defense, and appellate work. We pride ourselves on quality representation, compassionate advocacy, and results‑driven legal strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file family‑based petitions and related applications before USCIS
    .
  • Draft motions, briefs, and appeals before USCIS, EOIR, the BIA, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals
    .
  • Appear at master calendar and individual hearings in the Sacramento and Bay Area
    .
  • Develop case strategy; manage client communications; curate evidence; meet deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate on internal case reviews and quality control.
Qualifications
  • J.D. and bar admission (California).
  • 2+ years of substantive immigration law experience (family‑based, removal defense, waivers, appeals).
  • Excellent legal research and persuasive writing
    ; proven brief/motion drafting.
  • Comfortable with EOIR appearances; willingness to travel locally for hearings.
  • High standards of professionalism

    , and client service
    .
  • Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
  • Strong technology proficiency (case management systems, e‑filing, Microsoft 365/Google Workspace).
