Medical Interpreter Per Diem (Mien)

This position provides oral interpreting services for non-English speaking and limited English-speaking patients at the University of the California, Davis Health.

• Must be fluent in English and target language Mien
  .
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Meet minimum California auto insurance requirements.
• Passing score on internal Interpreter Competency Test or an active National Medical Interpreter certification status.
• Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology in source and target languages.
• Familiarity with the Medical Center setting.

• 90% - Oral Interpreting
• 10% - Record keeping and other duties

Medical Interpreting Services provides a range of language access services, including onsite, telephone, video interpreting, and written translations to ensure access to healthcare services for NES/LES and deaf/hard-of-hearing patients.
