Responsibilities

• Provide accurate oral interpretation between Spanish and English in medical, legal, and community settings.
• Assignments are based in Sacramento County and are available on a regular basis, depending on demand.
• Effectively communicate with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Meet the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Spanish and English.
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings with the highest fidelity to the original communication.
• Strong oral interpretation skills in both directions.
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
• Possession of a valid California interpreter license.
