Are you looking for a career with the State of California FTB and interested in being an IT Student Assistant? Then this job is for you! The IT Student works in a learning capacity while providing operational and technical support to the Enterprise Monitoring Team. The student will support daily monitoring operations for Information Technology (IT) applications, services, and infrastructure. The student assists in detecting, identifying, documenting and triaging system alerts, defects, and incidents and escalating issues to appropriate technical teams for resolution.
The Student Assistant will gain exposure to Enterprise-wide systems, monitoring tools, automation processes, and operational workflows.

- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field
- Experience in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams)
- Basic understanding of computer systems, operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Foundational knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Power Shell or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing assigned tasks independently
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to clearly record technical steps and configuration changes
