Job Description and Duties
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION / SACRAMENTO HEADQUARTERS
The reporting location for this position is Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the IT Manager II.
California State Parks is looking for a skilled IT Specialist to serve as the DEMS System Administrator, supporting the Department’s Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Division (LEESD).
This position is responsible for administering and maintaining the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), ensuring system reliability, compliance, and user support across the organization.
In this role, you’ll:- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the DEMS application, ensuring system stability and compliance with DOJ reporting requirements.
- Manage user accounts, system updates, and workstation configurations to support secure and efficient operations.
- Develop and deliver training and documentation for end-users to ensure effective system utilization.
- Collaborate with DPR staff, DOJ, and vendor partners on system enhancements, reporting, and security standards.
- Serve as backup CAD Systems Engineer, supporting disaster recovery and business continuity processes for critical law enforcement systems.
The role may require travel to various State Park locations and providing after-hours support for California Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) systems and networks based on operational needs. The incumbent is based in the Sacramento Headquarters office.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
