Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II (IT Spec II) is responsible for leading a team of analysts performing a wide variety of technical and analytical activities in support of the most complex information technology systems to ensure that the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration’s (CDTFA) and Board of Equalization’s (BOE) websites deliver and maintain high-quality, accessible, and comprehensive customer services for all stakeholders and the public websites include CDTFA’s and BOE’s public Internet site, CDTFA’s and BOE’s Intranet.
Responsibilities include implementing customer changes, recommending strategic direction for web services, advising executives on new technologies and new state services and directions, establishing and enforcing website standards and methodologies, managing web content, and coordinating the implementation of new online services. The incumbent will direct staff and work with CDTFA, BOE, and other State of California executives, technical and business managers, IT specialists, business users and end users to manage projects to test, document, design, and improve the usability and accessibility of each website content (Internet and Intranet) and online services.
In addition, the incumbent will represent the CDTFA on statewide and inter-agency initiatives to improve the State of California web presence and online services.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.
