Position OverviewThe organization is seeking a leased Project Manager to support the Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO follows a rigorous Enterprise Project Management Process to ensure consistent, high-quality management of strategic initiatives. To maintain momentum on priority enterprise projects, the Project Manager will manage 2–5 concurrent enterprise-level projects across all phases of the project management lifecycle. This role requires strong application of PMP methodologies and adherence to enterprise project governance to deliver projects on scope, schedule, and budget while aligning with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage 2–5 concurrent enterprise projects across all phases, including Initiation, Planning, Execution, and Closing, ensuring compliance with enterprise project management processes.
- Establish and develop trusted relationships with Project Sponsors, Execution Sponsors, and key stakeholders to provide effective project governance and oversight.
- Partner with Project Sponsors and Execution Sponsors to define project success criteria and measurable benefits to be evaluated post-project completion.
- Lead all project management activities, including:
- Discovery and initiation
- Detailed planning
- Resource coordination
- Risk and issue management
- Communications
- Execution monitoring
- Project closeout
- Develop and maintain required project artifacts, including:
- Business Cases
- Project Charters
- Stakeholder Lists
- Communication Plans
- Risk Registers
- Project Schedules with defined milestones
- Benefit Realization Plans
- Status Reports
- Facilitate formal phase-gate reviews and approvals, ensuring all deliverables meet defined inputs, outputs, and approval requirements for each phase.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Planning Coordinators, Business Planning Analysts, and other stakeholders to confirm funding, resource availability, and alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Monitor and control project scope, schedule, cost, and risks, initiating change requests as needed in accordance with approval thresholds.
- Provide regular and ad hoc project status updates using systems of record (Service Now PPM, SAP BPC, Power BI dashboards).
- Build and track project tasks using tools such as Atlassian Align, Microsoft Project, and Service Now PPM (or successor tools).
- Lead project closeout activities, including lessons learned documentation and benefits realization follow-up.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, delegated approval authorities, and reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Approved Business Cases and Project Charters for each project
- Comprehensive Project Management Plan artifacts aligned with PMP principles
- Detailed Project Schedules with enterprise milestone templates
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Plans
- Monthly (or more frequent) Status Reports and Project Dashboards
- Risk and Issue Logs with documented mitigation and escalation paths
- Approved Change Requests when threshold criteria are met
- Project Closeout Reports, including Lessons Learned and Benefits Realization documentation
- PMP certification (must list certification, status—active or inactive—and date received)
- Minimum five (5) years of IT Project Management experience
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent enterprise-level projects, preferably in regulated or utility environments
