The Student Assistant will assist users with problems relating to the least complex user problems. You will follow specific procedures and utilize the Fresh Service Database. In this role you will provide limited technical education. All duties are performed within the framework of the Department’s mission and values, and in accordance with the Department’s Policies and General Procedures.

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience troubleshooting, installing and configuring PC software and/or hardware.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows 10, 11, Apple iOS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience providing customer service in an Information Technology (IT) environment.
- Experience communicating technical information to non-technical customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Able to work 20+ hours a week.
