This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships and collaborations, and embracing technology. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) leverages data and technology to advance goals and inform action and accountability.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisor I, Contracts and Procurement Unit Chief. The Analyst II is responsible for performing the more complex contract and procurement related tasks for the IT Fiscal and Administrative Branch (IT FAB), within ITSD. The Analyst II serves as a Contract Analyst, is responsible for all aspects of the information technology (IT) review and approval process for contracts and procurements and will provide guidance to IT and departmental program staff regarding the IT contract and procurement approval process.

The Analyst II is also responsible for all aspects of the Information Technology Acquisitions Plan (ITAP) system. This includes providing and resolving user access issues. The Analyst II will work with internal and external entities including CDPH Program Support Division (PSD), Department of General Services (DGS), and the Office of the Agency Information Officer (AIO) to facilitate approvals of IT contracts and procurements.

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Experience with Contracts/Purchasing.
  • Experience assisting in the development and implementation of policy and procedure guidelines and changes.
  • Experience with Excel and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate well with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates good and dependable work habits.
