Build the Infrastructure That Enables Speed, Stability, and Secure Identity Management

Western Health Advantage is seeking a skilled Development Operations (Dev Ops) Engineer to help design, deploy, and maintain the systems that power our software platforms, with a strong emphasis on OKTA-based identity and access management solutions. In this role, you will bring both strategic thinking and hands‑on expertise to support CI/CD pipelines, secure authentication and authorization frameworks, hybrid infrastructure, and release management—ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure deployments across environments.

What

You’ll Do
  • Building and maintaining OKTA solutions for multi-cohort, multi-entitlement identity management environments
  • Implementing API gateway solutions, including routing and rate limiting
  • Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, tooling, and user interfaces to support scalable, high-frequency deployments with minimal downtime
  • Leveraging commercial and open-source tools to manage deployments across test, production, and customer-facing environments
  • Driving Release Management strategy, framework design, and execution across Agile and Waterfall projects, including release calendars and zero-downtime initiatives
  • Evaluating and improving version control and configuration management tools to enable parallel development and real‑time change impact analysis
  • Developing and maintaining Dev Ops standards, guidelines, best practices, and procedures (Dev Ops Playbook)
  • Defining and implementing test automation and continuous testing strategies that support test‑driven development (TDD) across multiple platforms
  • Defining and supporting test environment management strategies and tooling to efficiently provision and manage environments
  • Partnering with Infrastructure teams to automate scaling and server resource management in support of CI/CD and zero-downtime goals
  • Collaborating effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
  • Monitoring industry trends and emerging tools to continuously improve Dev Ops practices
  • Participating in required after‑hours activities, such as scheduled server patching
  • Supporting special projects and performing additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a technically strong Dev Ops Engineer with deep hands‑on experience, strong problem‑solving skills, and a passion for building reliable and scalable systems.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or a related discipline
  • 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years of hands‑on Dev Ops implementation
  • 3 years of experience with Okta development and administration
  • Experience implementing solutions in multi‑layered hybrid environments
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing Release Management processes across business‑ and customer‑facing environments
  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing CI/CD frameworks in both legacy and modern environments
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems (including Ubuntu) and at least one scripting language such as Python, Shell, Bash, Power Shell, or Perl
  • Hands‑on experience with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Nginx, HAProxy, ELK stack, or similar SDLC tools
  • Experience using Git and Git‑based source control tools (e.g., Bitbucket)
  • Strong understanding of engineering best practices for building high-performance, reliable, and scalable web services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications
  • IIS and Windows Server experience
  • Experience working with microservices architectures and modern web technologies (Docker, REST, Node.js, React, JavaScript, HTML5, AJAX, Git, Big Data architectures)
  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry, particularly within an HMO environment
