Rhombus is looking for a Cloud Ops Engineer who will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. This role involves collaboration with various development teams, IT, and Sales Operations to implement and manage cloud solutions that support the organization’s goals.
What You’ll Do:- Design, deploy, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure in a multi‑cloud environment.
- Plan and execute capacity and scaling improvements to support growth and reliability.
- Identify and implement cloud cost optimizations (rightsizing, reserved capacity, storage lifecycle policies, etc.).
- Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Cloud Formation (and/or Terraform).
- Automate operational workflows using scripting and tooling (Python, Bash, JavaScript, etc.).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, reducing deployment time and increasing reliability.
- Implement comprehensive observability through logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerting; provide visibility into system performance, reliability, and cost trends.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Dev Ops, system administration, or related role.
- Hands‑on experience operating production cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building and maintaining production Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, routing, security groups, load balancing, DNS).
- Experience improving monitoring coverage and tuning alerts to reduce noise and improve signal quality.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, JavaScript, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Git Hub Actions.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization approaches (rightsizing, reserved capacity, storage lifecycle policies).
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with distributed databases (Cassandra, Scylla
DB, etc.).
This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento, CA. Candidates must be able to commute to the office 2‑3 days (Tuesday‑Thursday) a week.
Work AuthorizationCandidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
CompensationBase Salary: $105,000-$125,000
Additional forms of compensation, depending on the role, include sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and equity in the company. Individual pay is determined based on the candidate’s primary work/hiring location and additional factors, such as skills and experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Further details about compensation for the role can be discussed during the interview process.
