Summary:The HR Coordinator provides Human Resources products and services to clients for legal/safety compliance and employee relation’s purposes. The HR Coordinator works closely with under the direction of the HR Consultants to handle client inquiries, develop employee handbooks, job descriptions, file audits, etc. by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains basic understanding of CA Labor law, wage & hour regulations and leaves of absence management.
- Provides consistent communication and delivers updates to consultants on project, task status, questions, deadlines, etc.
- Conducts research for Consultants as needed or requested and provides information in a professional format that is ready to send to clients.
- Performs recruiting functions such as: preparing job descriptions, posting jobs on internet sites, and screening resumes to determine best candidates for the client’s positions.
- Performs reference checks for clients. Process background checks, skills assessments and work style profiles for clients.
- Prepares offer letters and new hire packets.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related termination documentation.
- Assists in writing employee handbooks, job descriptions, Illness and Injury Prevention Plans, Performance Reviews based on approved company formats.
- Conduct wage and benefit surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
- Prepares wage and benefit survey reports for clients.
- Assists consultants in the preparation of management and employee training in interviewing, hiring, termination, promotions, performance reviews, safety and unlawful harassment and other topics as requested.
- Coordinates on line training for clients and provides client support as needed.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related termination documentation.
- Organize and conduct client file audits and prepares audit follow up reports and materials.
- Responsible for assigning, tracking, reporting and following up on monthly client safety trainings.
- Assists with organizing paperwork to support leave of absence documentation for compliance purposes, including but not limited to FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, FEHA, Worker’s Comp, Military and Jury Duty, etc.
- Maintains files, documents, and knowledge of operations, clients and employees in a neat and organized manner, maintaining the strictest confidence.
- Maintains sufficient supplies and forms as needed for the department.
- Responds to all calls, emails and other communication in a timely and professional manner.
- Supports a positive team working relationship with a professional work ethic and attitude.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Education and/or
Experience:
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, high attention to detail, able to prioritize in a fast- paced environment, and has strong computer skills in MS Office software. Must have ability to travel locally occasionally and have a clean DMV report.
Location: Onsite
Schedule: Full time, 40hrs. a week
Compensation: $25-$29/hr plus, health insurance benefits, PTO, 401K match program.
