Job Description and Duties

This is a 12-month limited-term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24 months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.

The Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD), Adult and Senior Care Special Projects Unit, is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time, 1-year Limited Term Analyst II position. We seek a motivated and capable individual with experience working with statutes and regulations, analyzing proposed legislation, preparing planning and decision documents, presenting recommendations to management, and working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners on complex policy issues.

Experience with developing regulations, instructional memos and manual procedures is desirable; candidates with this breadth of experience will be given priority consideration.

Location and work environment notes: office is near light rail, downtown plaza, and other amenities. The position offers hybrid work eligibility per Executive Order N-22-25 and at the department’s discretion. Telework does not change essential functions or CDSS policies. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze statutes and regulations; review and interpret policy; prepare planning and decision documents.
  • Develop regulations, instructional memos, and manual procedures.
  • Present recommendations to management and collaborate with internal and external partners on complex policy issues.
  • Contribute to a team focused on health and safety protections for vulnerable persons in care.
