Role Scope

We are looking for a dynamic, service-oriented therapy aide who is passionate about supporting elderly persons in their journey. The therapy aide will assist the therapy department in day-to-day operations to ensure successful participant therapy and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a center experience that Participants want to spend time in, a team culture that cares and creates joy, and an environment where all participants and team members belong.
  • Exhibit and honor Habitat’s Values.
  • Assists a licensed Therapist in implementation of therapeutic treatment activities for patients as directed.
  • Assembles, adjusts, adapts, repairs, and/or constructs simple equipment for elderly participants as instructed by a Therapist.
  • Prepares and maintains treatment areas; cleans therapy gym, treatment mats, and equipment; and picks up equipment.
  • Maintains inventory, sets up for, and leads recreational activities under direction of the recreational therapist.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year experience working with the frail or elderly.
  • Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases, including a TB test.
  • Proof of all immunizations up to date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or education in physical, occupational, recreational therapy.
  • Bilingual:
    Spanish preferred.
  • A state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law.
Compensation

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $22- $26 per hour and is a bonus-eligible position. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.

For COVID and flu, we require either proof of vaccination or a declination form and required masking while in participant locations as a safe essential requirement of this role.
