About This Role: The role under direction of the Contract Compliance and Communication Unit (CCCU) Chief, Supervisor I, the Analyst I acts as a Contract Manager (CM) and performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical and administrative activities associated with the development, operational and administrative functions, and ongoing monitoring of several Managed Care health plan contracts.
The Contract Oversight And Program Analysis Section is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with health care contracts. These contracts pertain to health plans operating within their designated geographical areas in the state. Each health plan is assigned to a dedicated CM. Common CM roles include:
- Resolving issues related to contractual interpretation, quality of care, member services, eligibility, and scope of benefits.
- Analyzing health plan performance by reviewing provider data reports, network structures, policies, marketing materials, and other contractually required submissions.
- Evaluating deliverables to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing plan inquiries and approving deliverables, coordinating with other divisions as needed. Reviewing reports, performance data, and contract submissions (e.g., provider directories, marketing materials, newsletters, etc.).
- Researching and providing guidance to health plans on Medi-Cal program requirements and policies.
This classification was previously known as the Staff Services Analyst classification and is now referred to as the Analyst I classification, effective January 1, 2026.
