This position supports the CDPH mission through the development and implementation of the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Division’s Future of Public Health (FoPH) Mental and Behavioral Health Program and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) initiatives.
The incumbent works under the general direction of the Health Program Manager II (HPM II), Manager of the Community Resilience and Support Section (CORESS). The Health Program Manager I serves as the Manager of the CORESS Local Program Support Unit providing leadership and oversight in the areas of mental and behavioral health and support for CYSHCN and their families. The Health Program Manager I works closely with state and local MCAH programs and their staff;
identifies needs, emerging issues, develops trainings, resources and provides technical support related to primary prevention of behavioral and mental health challenges. Up to 10% in-State travel is required.
