Job Summary
The Social Worker I will plan, organize, and conduct a wide range of individual and group activities of a psycho educational, social, cultural, or creative arts nature which will facilitate diagnosis, evaluation, planning, and treatment of patients receiving services from ACMH.

- Associate Social Worker License issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Examiners within 90 days of hire.
- A Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work.
- Experience in a social service or healthcare setting (i.e. case management or social worker).
- Knowledge and understanding of individual, child, and family development, human behavior and communication, the influence of culture and values in social work practice, psychotherapy, case management, and the relation between social work practice and medicine.
- Knowledge and skills in the areas of individual, group, and family therapy.
- Basic understanding of community resources.
- Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, dealings with cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
- Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g., Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc. Ability to make appropriate interventions based on law and policy.
- Basic understanding of computer and MS functionality.
- Social Work experience in a jail or correctional setting.
- Knowledge of criminal justice system, state hospital system, forensic mental healthcare, Probation, Parole, and Department of Corrections.

Adult Correctional Mental Health (ACMH) is a satellite contract program of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The program provides mental health services to incarcerated individuals inside the two Sacramento County jails located in downtown Sacramento and in Elk Grove and Jail Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) and Early Access and Stabilization Services (EASS) to inmates found Incompetent to stand trial.

- Salary or Pay Range: $38.10-$41.22 (Contingent upon the contract with Sacramento County, Adult Correctional Health, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences will continue to provide an 8% correctional site stipend on an ongoing basis)
