Job Summary
The Department of Radiology is a 24‑hour, seven‑day service providing imaging for adult and pediatric patients. This role verifies images on PACS, tracks films, and ensures that exams are completed. The position interacts with radiologists, clinicians, and community physicians, serving as a liaison between the Department of Radiology, the hospital, and external callers. Work may occur in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, or Warehouse as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications- No minimum education required; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience accepted.
- Knowledge of California and Federal HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Strong medical terminology, EMR, and PC‑based software proficiency.
- Ability to accurately enter and retrieve patient data using a standard keyboard.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; independent decision‑making and resource identification.
- Work quickly and accurately under pressure; maintain effectiveness amid changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; can convey instructions to non‑English speakers.
- Professional demeanor and courtesy toward patients and staff; maintain patient confidentiality.
- Physical ability to walk across hospital and campus locations; tolerance of a very cool computer area.
- Assist with variable hours, alternate shifts, and occasional overtime for coverage.
- 80% electronic imaging and reading room support.
- 20% general and miscellaneous duties.
- Salary: $25.45‑$36.05 per hour.
