About this RoleUnder the direction of the Long Term Care Support Services Section Chief, the HPS II provides coordination and technical program assistance for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care policies related to Long Term Care and Supportive Services (LTC) reimbursement. The HPS II serves as a highly skilled technical program consultant, providing policy and consultative advice on the most complex and sensitive policy matters within the Section and functions as the Section expert advisor and specialist for LTC reimbursement policy development.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum qualifications include relevant experience and education as specified in the Classification Specification for Health Program Specialist II. Candidates must meet all minimum requirements stated in the classification specification.
Desirable Qualifications- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, particularly in program oversight.
- Ability to research, critically analyze, and interpret information.
- Ability to adapt to changes in workload, prioritize workload, and shift focus as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in composing financial reports and other professional written communication.
- Proactive and autonomous approach to learning and development.
- Continuous and ongoing training.

This position is eligible for telework up to three days per week and requires in-person reporting at least two days per week. The office location is 1501 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814. Salary range: $7,276.00 – $9,107.00 per month. Temporary salary reduction due to PLP 2025 may apply.
