About this Role:
Under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Program Consultant, Chief of Enteral and Medical Supplies Benefits Branch, Pharmacy Benefits Division, the Pharmaceutical Consultant II (PC II) (Specialist) provides clinical support of outpatient disposable medical supplies and enteral formula which includes the review of product petitions, product categories, data analytics involving claims utilization and pricing considerations, reporting, and provide oversight of the Branch's analysts analysis work.
Collaborate with Fiscal Intermediaries to support, change, and update the Branch's policies for the Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal Rx program. The PC II specialist will perform other work as required.
The PC II reviews, evaluates and recommends potential product coverage updates, exclusion of, or changes to pharmacy-billed outpatient disposable medical supplies which are covered, contracted, considered for coverage, or petitioned benefits. Reviews current national protocols that impact these products. Analyzes state and federal law, regulation and policy changes or potential impact on the Medi-Cal enteral nutrition formula and medical supplies coverage program.
The Pharmaceutical Consultant II (Specialist) qualifies for a "Hire Above Minimum" (HAM) salary. The starting salary for the classification will be: $11,365.00
This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming this position, annually by April 1, and when leaving this position.
