Job Description And Duties

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is the backbone of California’s health care safety net. This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse team in the following role.

About This Role: Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II in the County Oversight and Monitoring II Unit of the County Oversight and Monitoring Section, Program Review Branch (PRB), is responsible for collecting, verifying, and analyzing county Medi-Cal call center data to determine the completeness of data submitted and where data trends indicate a county call center s wait time or abandonment rate is increasing, provide the county with training and technical assistance to reduce this trend.

The Analyst II is also expected to review Medi-Cal cases to determine the accuracy of the administration of the Medi-Cal program.

The Analyst II must acquire a working knowledge of the Medi-Cal program, and must have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision; be able to work collaboratively with a variety of staff, located in office and remotely; analyze complex regulations and interpret and apply the regulations appropriately; explain regulations clearly to external stakeholders; have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;

have the ability to navigate various Medi-Cal eligibility systems, and the ability to make oral presentations.

The duties require travel to attend meetings and/or conduct provider/staff training and contract oversight. Travel is expected to occur 5% or less of the time.

Telework and Salary Information
