- Oversee policy activities related to non‑commercial driver licensing, driver safety, financial responsibility, and compliance with federal initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to unit managers within the Licensing Policy Branch.
- Develop, implement, and interpret statutory and regulatory language affecting driver licensing and identification card issuance.
- Collaborate with state, federal, and local agencies on licensing initiatives and data analysis.
- Provide direction on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters related to driver licensing and identification card issuance.
- Eligible for appointment and possess a valid driver's license.
- Preferred background investigation clearance prior to hire.
- Experience with policy development and implementation in a regulatory environment.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid (telework and office) environment.
- Hybrid telework opportunities; telework arrangements may change based on operational needs.
- Regular office hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; reporting to the office as required.
- Work located at the DMV Headquarters, Sacramento County, California.
