Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II performs the most complex analytical tasks relating to the Mutual Aid Reimbursement Program within the Cal OES Law Enforcement Branch. The Analyst II performs a broad range of advanced journey level analytical tasks relating to the Law Enforcement Mutual Aid (LEMA) Reimbursement Program. The incumbent works under strict administrative deadlines and acts with independence to maintain a routine workload and respond to short term special projects and priority assignments.
Will formulate policies, procedures, make recommendations on program-related issues, and advise management on potential program alternatives and impacts. Must be able to logically and creatively analyze and resolve administrative challenges of an intermediate to high level complexity using various tools and program applications. The Analyst II will gather and analyze data, communicate effectively orally and in-writing, and function in an environment with demanding and changing priorities.

Working directly with all 58 California Sheriffs, the Law Enforcement Branch provides guidance, personnel, and critical resources for agencies to successfully and efficiently management events occurring throughout the state.
The California Law Enforcement, Coroner, and Search and Rescue mutual aid programs are a top priority of the branch.
In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description.
Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
