Job Description
Under general direction of the Assistant Chief, Land Management Division (LMD), the incumbent supervises and directs the team for all basic General Lease Recreational Use lease applications for the entire State. Duties include, but not limited to, training lower level Public Land Management Specialists (PLMS) on the process and jurisdiction of leases; supervising and directing the work of technical staff engaged in land management activities including appraisals, leasing, exchanges, acquisitions, title settlements, boundary line agreements and title records maintenance;
and overseeing the work related to other land management activities. The PLM I works closely with interested individuals, groups, and the public to resolve conflicts surrounding land and resource use decisions.
This position is required to have a valid CA driver's license and operate a vehicle on official State business.
Posted salaries do not reflect the 2–4.62% pay reduction in exchange for 3.5–8 hours per month of leave arising from the Personal Leave Program 2025. Information related to salary reductions is available in Section 2113 of the CalHR Human Resources Manual.
